Sensei David Dyer

When Sensei David Dyer started Judo he was at the ripe old age of 32, and after many years of hard work, he is now the Senior Instructor of Southampton Samurai Judo Club.


David is a 5th Dan in The British Judo Council (B.J.C.), International Referee and has

Fundamental Principals of Judo levels 1 & 2 for teaching judo. The British Judo Council's top coaching award Shudoshadai-San.


In the British Judo Assocciation (B.J.A.) David is a 3rd Dan and a National "A" referee.


On most Sundays & weekends Sensei Dave is away Refereeing some competition somewhere in the county or in Europe.

Sensei Daniel Patrick

Daniel started his Judo career at Southampton Samurai in 1999 at the age of 9 years. He is one of the longest-serving members of the club and one of the best Instructors we have.

He is a 2nd Dan in the British Judo Council and also Area Referee.


He holds Fundamental  Principals of Judo levels 1 & 2 for teaching judo.


The British Judo Council's coaching award Shudoshadai-Ichi.


In the B.J.A. (British Judo Assocciation) Daniel is a 1st Dan.

Sensei Dave Tooby
